New Year: Chapter One!
Here it is, the beginning of a new year, and it's already the 6th! As soon as we said "Happy New Year!" to friends and family, I was already thinking about what I wanted for this brand new year. Over the weekend, while packing up the Christmas decorations, I continued to think and make plans in my head. I looked back over 2015 to see how I ended with my goals for that year. There were several things that I had hoped for and good intentions, but as I am only human, there were several times where I fell short with completion of those goals. However, the year wasn't a bust. I tried several new things, made new artist friends, explored mediums that I had little to no experience with, created a website, started a blog, challenged myself to look at things from different perspectives, challenged myself physcially to be in better health, and continued to question things, processes, and thoughts so that I could grow, as an artist and a person.
Now, I'm looking ahead. The days have been wiped clean to begin new adventures for a new year. For me personally, I will continue my journey to better health. I will be starting another Advocare 24 day challenge soon. I have registered for the St. Louis Rock 'n Roll half marathon and 5k that will be in October. I have joined my husband and two friends to have our group run 2016 miles in 2016. For me artistically, I will continue to explore and learn new techniques and mediums. I will practice with watercolor and improve my skill because I am really drawn to that medium currently. I plan to add painting in smaller dimensions because I was inspired by the "Daily Painting" book. I will do more art journaling. I will upload and post more images of my work. And I will blog more.
I know that as the year progresses I will add or change these "new year's resolutions," but this is what is in my mind and heart right now. This is a good start for how I want to begin my journey this year. And one more thing on thinking about 2016... I'M EXCITED!!! Let the adventure begin!
What resolutions or plans do you have for 2016?
